Daydream....The STRENGTH of a PUA

April 27, 2020

Daydream… the STRENGTH of a PUA

The Kaua’i sky was an ocean, clouds of foam washing against the Mauka.

The sun was a golden drop of honey, casting light upon the emerald grass.

Waikomo stream lay still in the field of green, motionless and peaceful.

Calm was the water, and silent was the breeze. On this day the sun was barely

peeking over the Mauka and the field was full of an early mist,

the wind carried a single drop of water to the center of the emerald meadow.

The droplet fell into the grass and sunk deep into our island earth rich red soil.

For days of sun and nights of moonlight, the water and soil bonded to create roots.

The roots grew stronger by each morning, until one day a little of a stem rose from the ground.

Hidden by the tall grass, it was still unseen. The sun nor the moon could see what was slowly growing just before their gaze. While the sky changed colors countlessly and the Mauka woke again and again, something was slowly rising from the grass. Soon it grew taller than the emerald field, and indeed the sun and...

(Sunday) Morning Sunrise

February 22, 2020

It is soft and quiet. As you awake, it seeps through windows, greeting you with a bright Aloha.

Eyes gently come to, and the room is lit with morning magic. There is nothing quite like these first few moments of the day. As morning's white light floods the room, it awakens the body, mind and soul. it refreshes and reminds that today is a new day, new beginning, new start.

It is a  blessing Sunday morning. Say "Happy Birthday with a smile of gratefulness!"...every morning awaken is another chance to say happy birthday. Slowly sit up on the side of your bed, breathe in and breathe out with just beautiful remembrance. Tip toe out of bed, roll your shoulders back, stand up straight, and stretch your hands above your head, however possible and comfortable to you. Your joints, bones and musles will thank you later.

Take the next hour to relax and soak up that morning sun. Brew a cup of natural preference of delight, find the light, and sip it slow. Get lost in the pages of a book, in music or simply lay back down and let your thoughts dream with open eyes...then, be ready...

I Dream Of A World

November 11, 2019

 I Dream of A World

I dream of a world where everyone feels loved

Forgiveness and peace

I dream about finishing the puzzle that makes sense of life

To bring healing and liberation to the world

And end all the needless suffering

To inspire and uplift through my voice and create

Movements and foundations that restore the balance

And harmony that is our birthright

To envision a world where everyone is safe

Healthy and loved, and the earth is restored to all her splendor

All the nightmares of the current world will be transformed

And in its place, there will be an outpouring

Of love, music, adventure, magic, snuggling, feasting

And everyone feeling connected to their true selves, each other

That is the life we are meant to live

Happiness and peace are what everyone seeks

And the vision all humanity strives to attain

A happy outlook in life brings peace in living

It is my hope from all of you can nurture a character

Of contentment and detachment

Have a mind of compassion and tolerance

Learn to pick up and let go with perfect ease

And achieve a character of selflessness and...

Flashback in memory of Big Island Kilauea Vocano Eruption:

August 25, 2019

This day...

Much rain off and on last eve and into the morning. The high wind has subsided. Really, it is just another blessing morning.  Prayers for our sister islands and for Big Island of Hawai'i.  It seems the young (Island) must indure much as if to be tested in strength to carry on when Pele (fire Goddess decides to withdraw her exhausting strength to finally move on...

Kaua'i, (the oldest island) she breathes strength!  I have been through two major hurricanes, Ewa 1982 and Iniki 1992 with much calmness and peacefulness.  Knowing and accepting the force power of Nature is to believe that it is telling us to renew.  The hashed reality but also the beauty yet to be seen and we are reminded the important of "ALOHA".

It tests our FAITH, our STRENGTH and PATIENCE.  Yes, every person is different.  But we all have MAKA (eyes)...

With eyes close, you see within dream state.  With eyes open, you see outward the reality or living dream.  That i the state of FAITH, STRENGTH, UNDERSTANDING and PATIENCE.

We have choices.  Having faith is introduced.  Have Strength is through experiences.  Having understanding and patience are the gift...

A Gift of "Beauty from Heaven"

January 11, 2016

Nohea’lani A gift of “beauty from Heaven” to remind us to be a child again:

Being a kid at heart is not a question of age, but more so a question of spirit. You can be a child by enjoying small things and being happy with almost anything.

Part of me melts every time I encounter children because I observe their carefree, happy, innocent nature, from which we as adults could stand to learn. They find joy and pure happiness in the simplest things, and they share those giggles with everyone. Have you ever noticed that children have the uncanny ability to see every day as a new beginning? They forget about the past easily and don’t hold grudges. When two children fight, they are upset for that time period, but then, the very next day, they are best friends again. As we grow into adults, this becomes tougher and we find it difficult to forgive and let things go. It’s never too late to forgive and start all over.

In a child’s world, nothing is impossible. The ability of children to believe sparks faith and optimism to never give up. Many adults lose this ability because we tend to see things...

whisper in the Wind

May 25, 2015

The wind is a mysterious and mystifying force of nature. Sometimes when it’s really windy, I stand still outside and hope to get swept away. Sometimes in life we get stuck in one place and forget that there is an entire world out there. This week, ask yourself where you want to go in life… Who do you want to meet? What experiences are you looking to gain? What sights are your eyes longing to see? Your possibilities in life are endless. Allow yourself to get swept away by the wind, get your name out there, and be who you truly want to be.

"How Could You"? A dog's story...

January 11, 2015

Permission to re-print from author, Jim Willis

A note from the Author.

If How Could You? brought tears to your eyes as you read it, as it did to mine as I wrote it, it is because the composite story of millions of formerly owned pets who die each year in American and Canadian animal shelters.

Please use the essay to help educate, on your websites, in newsletters, on animal shelters and vet office bulletin boards. Tell the public that the decision to add a pet to the family is an important one for life, that animals deserve our love and sensible care, that finding another appropriate home for your animal is your responsibility and any local humane society or animal welfare league can offer you good advice, and that all life is precious. Please do your part to stop the killing, and encourage all spay and neuter campaigns in order to prevent unwanted animals.
Thank you.

When I was a puppy I entertained you with my antics and made you laugh. You called me your child and despite a number of chewed shoes and a couple of murdered throw pillows, I became your best friend. Whenever I was...

Happy Mother's Day!!!

May 11, 2014

-- Author Unknown

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said, "I love you, but I know this other woman loves you too, and she would love to spend some time with you."

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.

"What's wrong, are you well?" she asked. My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news.

"I thought that it would be pleasant to spend some time with you," I responded. "Just the two of us."

She thought about it for a moment, and then said...
"I would like that very much."

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up, I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be...
